Please read this carefully.
In lieu of live auditions, for the second round this year, we are asking you to do a virtual audition. We would like you to learn one selection from Le loup-garou and send us a video of yourself performing that selection. A smartphone recording is not only acceptable, it is what we expect.
Audio recording of the accompaniment and the scores are provided below. It need not be memorized.
We will take into account this, as well as the video/audio you submitted in round one, in making our final decision.
A single-source recording of yourself singing to the audio track is acceptable. (i.e. if you have a sufficiently loud set of speakers and you just sing along and capture it in one pass on your phone).
However, in most cases, audio will be higher-quality if you are listening to your piano track via headphones while singing and subsequently edit (mix) the audio together. We understand that not everyone has these technical skills. Our only request is that you not edit together multiple “takes” – it should represent a single pass straight thru.
You may also work traditionally with a live accompanist if you are in a position to do so safely.
Below are the files for the audition. You can download the files by right clicking the link and selecting “Save Audio As.”
Once you have made your audition video, please upload it as an unlisted Youtube, Vimeo, or Google Drive or similar service – (unlisted, not private – we shouldn’t need a password to get to it), and send us the link here.
