Opera Southwest has commissioned Hector Armienta, whom we previously commissioned for the unbelievably popular operas Bless Me, Ultima, and Zorro to compose a new opera for families and children based on Rudolfo Anaya’s beloved children’s book, The Farolitos of Christmas. This event is to help raise money for the production as we hope this work will become an annual tradition for opera audiences in New Mexico.
Please join us for an intimate evening with nationally recognized composer, Hector Armienta. Presented by the Opera Southwest Amigos.
Date: November 18th, 2023
Time: 4:00 to 6:30 PM
Cost: $135
Hector is planning an informative, fun, and entertaining evening with Opera Southwest singers accompanying him. VARA sparkling Brut and wine will be flowing and the appetizers will be special!
We look forward to having you join us at the home of:

The Brabson Home
The Amigos are grateful to John and Ellen Brabson for opening their home. The Brabson Home was designed in 1971 by Albuquerque-based, prize-winning architect, Antoine Predock. It is built on three levels that “flow” downhill like a stream, along with large expanses of windows and porches that allow views of the city and Rio Grande Valley.
Predock has built many projects locally including the Hall School of Architecture at UNM and the Rio Grande Nature Center.
