Opera SoutNational Hispanic Cultural Centerhwest has a new home!

The Journal Theatre at the National Hispanic Cultural Center is a breathtakingly beautiful room with state-of-the-art acoustics and production facilities. At 640 seats, it is actually 10 seats smaller than our old home at the KiMo Theatre, preserving the wonderful intimacy that has become an Opera Southwest trademark. Excellent audience amenities include wide and comfortable seats, wide rows, ample restrooms and plenty of free parking, all less than 5 minutes from Interstate 25 at the Cesar Chavez exit.

Our Productions

The first production at the National Hispanic Cultural Center is our October production of The Barber of Seville, the third opera in our Rossini cycle. In March 2012, join us for our spring productions of Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi, two one-acts featured in Puccini’s “Il Trittico.”
