Anthony Barrese was the 2007 recipient of the prestigious Georg Solti Foundation U.S. Award for promising young conductors. Whether in Europe or the U.S., reviewers agree that under Barrese’s “eminently capable hands” control is absolute—“precise and nuanced” with a consistent eye to the needs of the singers and the staging.

Maestro Barrese has appeared with the Dallas Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Sarasota Opera, Spoleto Festival USA, Opera North, Fargo-Moorhead Opera and the Teatro Ventidio Basso in Italy, as well as others.
